Internal Audit utilizes a risk-based approach to ensure audit resources are deployed in areas that will bring the greatest value to Knox County and its citizens. The initiation of an audit does not inherently mean you or your department have done anything wrong.

Be responsive to audit requests, provide adequate access to documents and resources, and work collaboratively with the audit team.

Audit findings are not a reflection of auditee shortcomings or failures on the part of County employees or departments. Rather, findings are simply viewed as opportunities for collaborative improvement.
