Fees for the service of process by a sheriff will increase by $10 under legislation passed by the State of Tennessee that goes into effect on July 1, 2024 (T.C.A. 8-21-901). The fee for service of a garnishment will increase $20 under the new legislation.
The Knox County Circuit and General Civil Sessions courts will begin using a new fee schedule that reflects the increase on July 1, 2024. Both courts fee schedules are governed by T.C.A. 8-21-401.
Costs are charged and collected at the time services are requested, except as otherwise provided by the law.
Copies of the new fee schedules will be available at the clerk's offices.
